Diplomatic Incident: Update

For those of you up for a good laugh, I submit myself for public humiliation by handing over the link to the interview at El Tiempo (The Times) in Bogota, Columbia.

Since my Spanish is limited, I have no idea whether the statements that I made were accurately translated. I trust my translator for the week, the gentleman who did the interview Mauricio Romero, to have at least attempted to make me appear less foolish than I felt (and probably sounded).

(For those of you who note the fine print, you will forgive my friends for noting that Toledo is in Michigan rather than Ohio. Then again historically speaking, it once was, wasn't it?)

Tim,

The historical details of the 1835 "Toledo War" make for some interesting.

But suffice it to say that the victor depends on your point of view.

Ohio did eventually get the thin sliver of land which was in dispute, but Meeshigan got the UP (actually thought to have more in common with Canada (Eh?) than "the lower 48."

It's a close call, but I think that MI won this one ;-)

Upon listening to your interview, I became greatly disconcerted by the fact that you moved to Michigan and told no one. Upon further reflection, I also found myself pondering how much you have come to look like Glen Beck since your move to Michigan. I guess the move has suited you well! Please send your new address! :)

kckkat,

The only thing that I share with Glenn Beck is a body built for radio. That size may account for the fact that while I still live in Toledo, they have expanded it to include parts of Michigan. My Columbian friends may have felt that it required this expansion in order to accommodate me.
