Weekend Retreat
I was forced to halt my travels for the week after visiting a newspaper and a friend in Panama City, FL. As you can see from the picture, there are worse places to have to hang out for a couple of nights.
Before jealousy overcomes you however, and you begin to cast aspersions upon my name and what little reputation that I have left, remember that it is not summer here either. The high was only in the upper 50's today, and if I decide to walk the beach (and trust me, I will), I will probably be doing it with a jacket on.
Besides, after driving over 2000 miles since last Sunday (and having managed to negotiate a pretty damn good room rate here), I figure that I am due a day on the beach to recharge the batteries.

Hey, Tim, if ever you are in the metro Phoenix area (home of the Arizona Republic and the East Valley Tribune and many other smaller newspapers) while I am in my winter home, get in touch and stop on by. There's a guestroom with your name on it!
IMHO, the weather is so much nicer in AZ than it is in FL.
Roland,
I certainly appreciate the offer. I have been in the Phoenix area from time to time (one never knows where I will show up these days) and I would love to finally be able to meet you.
enjoy the being stuck there - I feel SO BAD FOR YOU (not). :)
Jill,
Having lived through a few Cleveland winters in my past, I can truly appreciate the sympathy that you must be feeling for me right now. Quite frankly I am feelig sorry for myself, as the weather promises to improve greatly after I leave. (Related, hmmmm ...)
Learning recently of your prior archery training however, and having no desire to tempt the fates, I have enough of a sense of self-preservation not taunt you with my current burden. :-)
Well, Tim, perhaps we need to arrange a face-to-face meeting wherever the two of us happen to be at the same time.
Roland,
I game if you are, though I have to admit that I tend to be a disappointment in person.
